Abstract

The problem under study is the application of the marketing strategy used which is currently not optimal in increasing tourist visits to the Banjarmasin Wasaka Museum. The research method used is a descriptive method, which describes a situation and circumstances related to marketing strategies that can increase tourist visits to the Banjarmasin Wasaka Museum. The results of this study found that the tourism marketing strategy used by the management and the government to increase tourist visits to the Wasaka Museum Banjarmasin is still not optimal, especially not on target in marketing the Wasaka Museum so there are still very few tourist visits to the Wasaka Museum. The conclusion of this study is that the government and the museum management must be able to choose the right strategy in increasing tourist visits to the Banjarmasin Wasaka Museum and must pay special attention to advancing the Wasaka Museum because the Wasaka Museum has the potential to introduce Banjar culture and the history of the Banjar struggle. The suggestion from the researcher is that the Government should pay more attention to the Wasaka Museum, with more attention from Government, the Wasaka Museum can become a tourist attraction. With the help of the Government to advance the Wasaka Museum, it should improve what needs to be improved from this Wasaka Museum and should hold Banjar cultural events around the Museum that can attract the attention of the public to visit.
