PERANAN PROMOSI DALAM MENINGKATKAN JUMLAH WISATAWAN UNTUK BERKUNJUNG KE PROVINSI KALIMANTAN SELATAN

The problem examined is related to the role of promotion in
increasing the number of tourists visiting South Kalimantan
Province, due to the large number of tourist objects in this
province, also because the potential in South Kalimantan
Province is quite interesting. The method used in this research
is descriptive method, because this method describes a
situation with factors that influence the number of tourists to
visit South Kalimantan Province and the increasing
percentage of tourists visiting South Kalimantan Province.
The results of the study found that the role in increasing the
promotion and visits of tourists who come to South
Kalimantan Province includes promotions and facilities.
Promotion is to persuade or remind, tell more specifically. By
means of direct or indirect promotions, the government
collaborates with stakeholders (ASITA, PHRI, PHI, tourism
universities, the community) in holding fam trips and
roadshows and other events including festivals of arts and
cultural performances, floating market festivals, ornamental
jukung, provincial anniversary events, and other festive
performances that can attract tourists to visit South
Kalimantan Province.
